Thank you for choosing the Ossipee Valley String Camp. Please take a look at the frequently asked questions list on your right (click a question to drop down the answer!)
Look for an email from us in early July with camp info! New this year: we are aiming for NO WASTE! Please bring your own dishes, there will be a wash station. When you arrive on the grounds you will check in at the front gate and receive a packet with your personalized schedule. You will be asked to fill out your elective choices at that time. Check-in will be held on Sunday July 23rd from 12-5pm, and we will meet up at the Farmer’s Belly for introductions and dinner at 5PM, followed by a jam at 7:00. When should I arrive?
Please arrive on Sunday, July 23rd between 12-5pm. Check-in will be open at the front gate at that time. You will receive your personalized schedule at that time.
What should I bring?
- Tent and sleeping gear, unless you are sleeping at a hotel or commuting
- Hat, sunscreen, waterbottle
- Your instrument! Extra strings, picks, etc.
- Yoga mat and comfortable yoga clothes if you plan on yoga-ing
- A foldable chair for campfires and for the music festival
- A Camera
- Notebook and Pencils
- River tube!!!
- River shoes, shower shoes, towel, soap, etc.
- Your open, attentive, compassionate self!
Can non-campers (like spouses) eat at camp?
Yes! Please pay for meals for your spouse when you arrive at the gate.
Adult meals are $10/meal ($120)
Kids meals are $6/meal ($72)
This includes water, iced tea and coffee, as well as afternoon snack!
Let us know if there are any food allergies by phone or in your camp registration!

Will there be cabins?
Nope! There will be tent sites, RV hookups, and you can commute or stay in a hotel, but we prefer everyone to stay at the grounds if possible.
With advance notice by July 1st we can also arrange for a tent setup for you on the grounds. This includes a “6 person” (read: 2-person) tent, with one to two authentic cots with linens, blankets and pillows, a bedside stand with light and electric in a flat, grassy area. The cost for this service is $400-$500 (1-2 people), and you may keep your setup at the end of the week, or donate it to southern maine homeless projects for a tax deduction. What if I have dietary restrictions?

If I am a chaperone, what are my responsibilities-can I drop my child off?
Children may be dropped off at camp at 9AM (8AM for yoga) and picked up at 4:00PM. Children are allowed to run free around the campground unsupervised as long as they are careful and considerate of others. We do ask that parents make themselves available by phone if any issues should arise, and we strongly recommend a chaperones presence on the grounds for any child under the age of 15.
Can my family come see just my performance? Or do they have to buy a ticket to the festival?
We encourage the whole family to come for the Thursday night show, and join you for the weekend! However, we do allow camp families to enter the grounds free of charge (with a special paper wristband visibly different than others), for the hour of your performance (4:30-6). We hope that you’ll stay and enjoy the rest of the music!
Can I pay/register at the gate?
Unfortunately no. You must register by July 10th at the latest. If you have difficulty with this deadline please call us at 207-625-8656

What is the festival schedule?
Do all attendees get a free pass to the music festival?
Adult tickets are $495.00–this includes a ticket to the music festival. Children get into the festival free already.
Why did prices increase? Will they increase next year?
Prices will not increase next year. They were increased last year to accommodate rising camp expenses. If you would like to discuss this further with us we would be happy to provide full transparency on all camp fees.
