2021 Letter to Community, and 2020/21 ticket holders
Dear Festival Community,
Out of an abudance of caution with the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, we are postponing our full festival experience until 2022.
It is with great pleasure, however, that we announce the return of The Ossipee Valley String Camp for summer 2021, as well as a micro-festival with capped attendance the weekend after the camp!
The dates will be July 18th-22nd for camp, and July 23rd and 24th for the micro-festival. Both events will have a robust Covid-19 safety plan, advised by a medical professional team, with assistance from government agencies, and a restricted number of tickets sold to keep the gathering well within state guidelines. Both will also follow strict threshold qualifiers for possible cancellation. The organization will maintain the right to cancel both events if Covid-19 patterns do not significantly improve from current (April 2021) data, or if they do improve, and then worsen before the events start.
On camp: Through private support we will be maintaining our commitment to offering scholarships for the program. Those who rolled over or donated their 2020 String Camp ticket will be offered seats first and will be contacted directly. Once those kind folks have responded, we will open sales to our string camp community of former camp attendees, and 2020 festival ticket donors and rollover ticket holders, and then to the public at large. Please stay informed by following our social media and signing up for our newsletter.
On the festival: Rollover ticket holders will be able to use their tickets as credit. Because ticket prices ARE different for the microfestival, we will be contacting rollover ticket holders to work out how to apply their credits on a per ticket basis. We will be contacting each person who rolled over their 2020 ticket (string camp or festival) by email, so please watch your inbox/spam in the next few weeks. You will also have the opportunity to roll over again, donate, or receive a refund. The dates of the 2022 festival will be July 28th-31st, 2022.
Tickets to both events will go on sale in April.
Please also stay tuned for announcements about small evening concerts supporting festival musicians this summer and fall in the festival’s geographic area, as well as an online store for merchandise which will support local and regional artists with the sales. As a nonprofit we take our role in supporting the arts community seriously. While there are limitations on what can happen in the next year, there are ways to create safe outdoor experiences on a smaller scale. We are committed to supporting musicians as we all navigate this next year together.
With love and gratitude,
