Learn the basics of swing dancing with Jen and Ray from Lindy Maine! You don’t need a partner or any dance experience to participate.
Lindy Hop (also known as “swing dancing” or “jitterbug”) is the authentic style of Black American dancing that became popular in the 1920s and 30s. It originated in Harlem, New York where folks were dancing to big band swing and traditional jazz. Characterized by its syncopated rhythms, opportunities for individuality, and infectious joy, Lindy Hop is still popular all over the world.
Jen Kain has been teaching swing (Lindy Hop), solo vernacular jazz, Charleston, and tap since 2015. She can be found dancing in Kittery, Portland, Biddeford, or on Zoom most days.
